Overview

Join us on the beautiful island of Lombok.  This is home to sugar white beaches, spectacular falls and home of Indonesias second-tallest volcano.  We leave all that behind as we set sail with the World Arc yachts to make the 625NM (4-6 day)  passage to Christmas Island.  Nicknamed the ‘Galapagos of the Indian Ocean’ the island is famous for its red crabs, sea birds, whale sharks and spectacular coral reefs.  From there we sail onward on another 3-4 day passage that brings us to the Cocos (keeling) Islands.  These breathtakingly beautiful islands are in an almost perfect circle only two of which are inhabited.  Swim over the coral reefs, learn about the local Malay people or simply kick back and relax on the beach.  Then we gather with the other yachts for the crossing of the Indian Ocean.  Settle in to the 2350NM passage. We estimate to make the crossing somewhere between 12 and 18 days but the unknown is what makes an adventure an adventure.  By the end of our first full day we will have found our rhythm.  Watches will be running smoothly, the galley duties allotted and the music playlist agreed!   The fishing line will have been deployed and sea legs will have been found. Our arrival into Port Louis will leave us with a real sense of achievement.  Not many people can say they have sailed across the Indian Ocean.  With the airport only a 33 minute taxi ride away then things couldn’t be easier.
